Austmarka Sequence is a video that resulted from my artist in residence at Atelier Austmarka, Norway in 2015. The studio is located in a tiny village with few residents and buildings, in the wide surroundings of Finnskogen Forest. In this desolate place one can find total peace and quietness. The surroundings provide plenty of time and space for concentration and focus. Focus on simple things that one normally neglects amidst the buzzing everyday life of society. But in an environment where so little happens and where it is so still, boredom strikes easily. Austmarka Sequence is about the wandering between concentration and boredom, and the game that provides an escape.
